Description
The University of Massachusetts Amherst is soliciting a contractor for per-call, as-needed tree maintenance and removal services. The scope includes tree pruning, removal, spraying, transplanting, root-flare excavation or aeration, stump grinding, debris and log disposal, traffic control, and related emergency and scheduled services. Work may require multiple simultaneous crews and must be performed with qualified personnel, specified arboricultural certifications, prevailing-wage labor, and substantial equipment including aerial lifts, chippers, log trucks, cranes, tree spades, and specialized spray equipment. Bidders must complete the Bid Response Section, including hourly labor and equipment rates, minimum charge, renewal pricing, qualification information, at least three similar-service references from the past year, and personnel qualifications. The solicitation requires a 5% bid deposit based on an anticipated annual volume of $85,000, and the selected contractor must provide a 50% payment bond after award. The initial contract period is approximately December 1, 2026, through November 30, 2027, with two additional one-year renewal options.
