Description
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, through MassHealth, is soliciting applications from eligible Massachusetts psychiatric hospitals seeking to participate as MassHealth providers during Rate Year 2027. Selected hospitals will provide inpatient psychiatric services and may provide outpatient psychiatric services to MassHealth members, accepting the payment rates and reimbursement methodology specified in the solicitation and contract. Services include standard inpatient psychiatric care, specialty inpatient services for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, specialty inpatient services for eating disorders, administratively necessary days, and related clinical, discharge-planning, reporting, health-information-technology, and quality-improvement obligations. Applicants must satisfy eligibility requirements including Massachusetts location, Department of Mental Health licensure, Medicare certification, MassHealth enrollment, applicable accreditation, and compliance with program laws and regulations. The response must include a signed cover letter, completed and signed Psychiatric Hospital Contract, completed and signed Application for Participation, required institutional documentation, quality-improvement information, and applicable clinical quality program information. The initial contract term is 12 months, from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, with open enrollment and a possible extension of up to five additional years at the agency's option.
