Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for scheduled and on-call trash and recycling collection, hauling, and disposal services at its District 8 Southern Regional Office. The contractor must provide labor, bins, equipment, travel, disposal fees, taxes, and all incidentals. The scope includes two 10-cubic-yard roll-off bins for general trash, two 3-cubic-yard general-trash bins, and two 3-cubic-yard recycling bins, with scheduled pickups and additional on-call pickups as requested. The contractor must maintain a valid California Motor Carrier Permit, comply with applicable organic-waste recycling and disposal laws, use legally authorized disposal sites, provide disposal receipts and pickup tickets, and respond to certain service issues within specified timeframes. Subcontracting is not permitted. The bid requires completion of the bid proposal and certification documents, a current Motor Carrier Permit, and the Darfur Contracting Act Certification. A five percent certified California Small Business or Microbusiness preference is available, and a DVBE incentive applies, although DVBE participation is not required.
