Description
The U.S. Geological Survey is soliciting a small-business contractor to provide commercial, non-personal solid waste collection services for the Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center. The contractor must provide all personnel, supervision, vehicles, equipment, tools, containers, transportation, permits, and disposal necessary to remove, transport, recycle, and dispose of refuse. Services include regular solid waste collection, cardboard and paper recycling, glass recycling, and construction-waste collection, with disposal at an off-campus location. The contractor must provide two 4-yard solid-waste containers, one 20-yard construction-waste container, one 3-yard cardboard-recycling container, six 96-gallon paper-recycling containers, and one labeled 96-gallon glass-recycling container with a specified lid opening. Collection frequencies are weekly for regular solid waste, every two weeks for cardboard and paper recycling, monthly for glass recycling, and monthly for construction waste. The contractor must be a local refuse-removal provider licensed in Wisconsin and provide references for at least two waste-hauling contracts performed within the last three years involving specified local municipalities, along with fleet, facility, landfill, and personnel qualifications information. The contemplated contract is firm-fixed-price with a base year, one option year, and an optional six-month extension.
