Description

The City of Hayward is requesting proposals from qualified professional engineering firms for the Systemic Traffic Signals Improvements Project. The selected consultant will provide project management, field surveys and data collection, civil and traffic signal design, and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for safety improvements at 27 signalized intersections. Proposed improvements include pedestrian countdown signal heads, accessible pedestrian signal pushbuttons, signal lighting, yellow reflective signal backplates, and curb-ramp verification and upgrades for Americans with Disabilities Act compliance. The scope also includes 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% design deliverables; environmental support under the National Environmental Policy Act and California Environmental Quality Act, including an Area of Potential Effects map, Historic Property Survey Report, and Archaeological Survey Report; bid and construction support; responses to requests for information; submittal reviews; construction meetings; and final record drawings in PDF and AutoCAD formats. Proposals must include a technical proposal and a separately submitted concealed cost proposal. The project is federally funded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program and must comply with applicable Caltrans Local Assistance requirements.
