Description
The City of Sunnyvale is seeking professional transportation consulting services to evaluate the feasibility and effects of implementing pedestrian scrambles during school peak hours at Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road/Fremont Avenue near Fremont High School and Homestead Road/Kennewick Drive near Homestead High School. The scope includes document and project-history review, collision-history review, field observations, traffic and pedestrian data collection, existing-conditions assessment, operational analysis using Vistro 2026, queue and signal-timing analysis, evaluation of transit effects, and identification of constraints. The consultant must develop recommendations, 35% concept plans, design and construction cost estimates, a draft and final study, and presentation materials and in-person support for one BPAC meeting and one City Council meeting. The project must be completed by June 1, 2027, and deliverables intended for public City platforms must meet WCAG 2.1 Levels A and AA accessibility standards. A California-licensed civil engineer must be in responsible charge of the work.
