Description
This competitive sealed bid is for furnishing all labor and materials required to replace the existing rooftop chiller and air-handling units serving the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors of New York City Center. The work includes new fresh-air intake louvers on the 56th Street facade, replacement louvers in the south mechanical rooms, a fire-separated assembly below a ceiling-mounted air handler, and supporting structural, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire-alarm, and mechanical work. The project also includes selective demolition, historic removal and dismantling, incidental asbestos abatement, commissioning, testing and balancing, temporary HVAC, protection of occupied rehearsal studios, and compliance with a Project Labor Agreement and Community Hiring requirements. The proprietary fire-alarm devices must be provided from Notifier/Honeywell International, Inc.; substitutions are not permitted for that item. The contractor must demonstrate at least three similar projects successfully completed within the five years preceding bid opening, using the provided Qualification Form. The contract includes special experience requirements for HVAC and general construction work, M/WBE participation requirements administered through PASSPort, and bid security requirements for bids of $1,500,000 or more. The bid must be submitted electronically through PASSPort, with certified-check bid security hand-delivered separately when that form of security is used.
