Description
Lake County Health Services Department is seeking a contractor to perform the functions, powers, and duties of a public health officer while the County recruits a permanent officer. The scope includes Title 17 reportable-disease reporting and response; public health emergency and disaster Medical Health Operational Area Coordinator response; Title 15 jail medical reporting compliance and annual inspection; review and approval of public health standing orders and protocols; local Registrar of Vital Records duties; consultation regarding communicable diseases, environmental health, and immunization clinics; and communications with the public, community groups, and Board of Supervisors regarding urgent public health matters. Most services are expected to be performed remotely, although travel to Lake County may be required during a Board of Supervisors-declared emergency. The contractor must maintain a California physician's license as an MD or DO. The proposal must include a cover letter, current medical license, DEA and NPI numbers or a commitment to provide them if selected, and a non-binding fully loaded daily, weekly, or monthly cost proposal. The County may retain the temporary officer as an alternate public health officer after appointing a permanent officer, subject to County discretion and mutual agreement.
