Description

The Boston Public Health Commission is seeking proposals from Boston-based community organizations, nonprofits, coalitions, faith-based organizations, and organizational partnerships to implement innovative, community-rooted projects addressing health inequities affecting Black men. Proposed projects must align with at least one priority theme: systems, equity, access, and economic mobility; prevention, wellness, and holistic health; behavioral health; or community connection and collective action. Applicants must demonstrate relevant experience, meaningful engagement with Black men and communities of color, measurable SMART goals, evaluation methods, organizational capacity, cross-sector collaboration, and a sustainability plan. Up to four organizations may be selected, with each contract funded up to $250,000 for the base period of March 1, 2027, through February 28, 2028. Proposals must include organizational information, project and evaluation plans, innovation, capacity, community engagement, collaboration, sustainability, a detailed budget and budget narrative, and resumes or CVs for key staff. The budget must cover applicable personnel, fringe, supplies, equipment, consultants or subcontractors, community engagement costs, other direct costs, and indirect costs, with indirect costs capped at 10% of Modified Total Direct Costs.
