The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is soliciting as-needed hot-dip galvanizing services for the Correctional Construction Mentorship Program at California State Prison, Corcoran. The contractor must galvanize miscellaneous gates, pedestals, brackets, cages, stair stringers, and related steel components, including preparation by removing old galvanizing, paint, lacquer, or varnish. Services include hot-dip galvanizing, acid etching, sandblasting, and paint or coating removal, with galvanizing meeting ASTM A123/A123M-24 and a minimum coating weight of 1.25 ounces of zinc per square foot. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, licenses, permits, insurance, transportation, travel, and other expenses in its rates. Estimated pricing is based on 360,000 pounds of hot-dip galvanizing and 200 hours each for acid etching, sandblasting, and coating removal; actual quantities are not guaranteed. The contractor must complete work and notify the program site supervisor within five calendar days so the customer can arrange pickup. The agreement is expected to run from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029, with an estimated state funding amount of $585,000.
