Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Neutron Technologies Division is requesting custom ARMCO pure-iron parts manufactured from three provided 40 mm-thick, 500 mm by 500 mm soft ingot iron sheets. The drawing package specifies multiple precision-machined components in varying quantities, including prism, pole, yoke, and center assemblies, with specified hole patterns, dimensions, tolerances, and fit requirements. The work includes machining and post-machining processes. Parts require electropolishing, controlled high-temperature annealing at approximately 950°C, and specified cooling and protected-atmosphere procedures. Depending on the component, surfaces must receive bright nickel plating and/or white powder coating with thickness limits and masking requirements. Offerors must separately price machining and post-machining processes, provide a definite delivery or performance schedule, and submit a cost proposal with detailed labor, materials, equipment, subcontract, indirect-cost, and fee or profit breakdowns. Award will be based on lowest price technically acceptable.
