Description
The Town of Berthoud is soliciting a contractor for the Jaskowski Park and Open Space Project. The work may include clearing and grubbing; a gravel parking lot with road base, wheel stops, and limited striping; stabilized crusher-fines trails; geotextile fabric; lighting with poles, caissons, electrical conduit, wiring, pull boxes, and DarkSky-compliant luminaires; security fencing and gates around existing buildings; automatic gate equipment; park, roadway, and trailhead signage; trash and recycling receptacles; concrete pads; blockade boulders; fire-hydrant relocation and waterline improvements; a pedestrian bridge; erosion control and reseeding; survey; and mobilization. The revised bid form identifies quantities for these items, but actual quantities are not guaranteed and final payment will be based on actual quantities. The solar-powered gate opener is an alternate and must not be included in the base project total. The Town will separately contract subgrade and materials testing and portable restroom services. All crusher-fines trails must be stabilized, the contractor is responsible for survey and a Town right-of-way permit, and no permit fees will be assessed. The project includes accessible parking requirements, a 5% bid bond, performance and payment bonds after award, 5% retainage, and liquidated damages of $500 per day. The Town generally allows 91 days for completion, subject to amendment for seasonal conditions.
