Description
The City of Buchanan is soliciting bids from a single prime contractor for Phases 1 and 2 of improvements to its St. Joseph River access site. The work includes installation of an ADA-accessible floating kayak launch with a gangway, construction of a timber pile-supported boardwalk, timber ice-protection piles, site grading, HMA paving, a reinforced-concrete boat ramp with riprap protection, porous-concrete sidewalks, storm sewer piping and drainage structures, site amenities, signage, restoration, seeding, landscaping, and soil erosion and sedimentation control measures. Substantial completion is required by June 30, 2027, with final completion by July 28, 2027. Bids must be sealed and submitted for public opening; a bid bond or qualifying check equal to 5% of the total bid is required, and the successful bidder must provide 100% labor, material, and performance bonds. Technical questions are due by September 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
