Description
This Request for Information is for market research only and is not a solicitation, contract opportunity, or commitment to award a future contract or timber sale. The U.S. Forest Service is gathering input from timber purchasers, forest-product companies, wood processors, biomass users, and other forest-related businesses operating in or near Colorado to inform future timber offerings and contract structures supporting forest health, economic development, and long-term stewardship. Respondents are asked to describe their interests in sawtimber, pulpwood, biomass, posts and poles, specialty products, and other forest products; desired specifications and annual volumes; short- and long-term needs; preferred contract durations and structures; interest in thinning, biomass-removal, stewardship, and combined service/product-removal contracts; operational constraints; facility, equipment, and workforce investments; preferred operating areas; and recommendations for improving future offerings. Responses must include the company name, primary business contact, operating location, current processing capabilities, and responses to the requested topics. Participation is voluntary and responses will not be used to evaluate or prequalify respondents.
