Description
The Town of Windsor seeks a qualified attorney admitted and active to practice law in Colorado to serve as Municipal Court Judge. Required services include presiding over arraignments, review hearings, trials, sentencings, dispositions, and other municipal proceedings; applying Colorado Municipal Court Rules and applicable law; managing courtroom proceedings and evidence; issuing lawful orders; exercising contempt powers when appropriate; and ensuring proper handling of appeals and court records. The judge is expected to preside in person unless otherwise authorized. Regular court sessions currently occur on the second Tuesday of each month, with special sessions, continued hearings, and related preparation and follow-up work as needed. The Town may optionally include Liquor License Authority Hearing Officer services, including liquor license and permit hearings, show-cause and disciplinary proceedings, and related licensing matters. This optional capability is not required to submit a proposal. Proposers must provide qualifications, Colorado licensure evidence, professional background, municipal court experience, availability, workload information, cost proposals, conflict-of-interest and professional-responsibility disclosures, references, and compliance confirmations. The anticipated appointment term begins in November 2026 and runs through December 2028, subject to Town Board approval, contract approval, annual appropriation, and applicable law.
