Description
The City of Jamestown is soliciting a contractor to construct Phase 1 of the Chadakoin River Activation Project along the river's south basin and at Panzarella Point. The scope includes site work and demolition; a beach launch and floating accessible kayak launch; a water safety barrier; a new dock/wharf with piles, framing, decking, retaining wall, and railings; permeable paver parking; asphalt, concrete, and stone-dust walkways; a pavilion; lighting and electrical infrastructure; signage; site furniture; stormwater and erosion controls; and landscaping. The contractor must furnish all required labor, materials, equipment, excavation, disposal, utility coordination, permits, and restoration. The project requires a 10 percent bid bond, 100 percent performance and payment bonds after award, New York prevailing wages, and a combined 54 percent Minority- and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise participation goal, with at least 1 percent participation in each category. The stated schedule is contract award approval on October 26, 2026; contract date and notice to proceed on November 13, 2026; anticipated start on November 20, 2026; substantial completion on September 6, 2027; and final completion on October 31, 2027.
