Description
The City of Longmont is seeking one consultant, potentially supported by subcontractors, to complete three coordinated transportation-safety projects: a Vision Zero Transportation Safety Action Plan, an Intersection Sight Distance Study, and an evaluation of DERQ Near Miss Crash Software. The work includes transportation-safety data analysis, identification and prioritization of countermeasures and locations, policy and process recommendations, cost and benefit analysis, field investigations, software and equipment evaluation, reporting, and development of implementation and tracking tools. The consultant must provide robust and accessible community engagement and communications, including focus groups, outreach events, committee and board presentations, bilingual English-Spanish materials and support, plain-language and accessible deliverables, graphics, reports, data products, and source files. The final Vision Zero plan must address federal SS4A requirements and support adoption by the City Council. The contract is expected to run through December 31, 2028, with an option for annual extensions, subject to appropriation. The estimated project budgets are $350,000 for the Vision Zero Action Plan, $250,000 for the Intersection Sight Distance Study, and $900,000 for the DERQ evaluation, for a total estimated amount of $1,500,000.
