Description
The City of Berkley is soliciting unit-price proposals from contractors to provide residential snow removal for senior residents during the 2026–2027 winter season, approximately December 2026 through April 2027. Services include clearing city sidewalks, walkways to homes, porches, full driveways, and driveway aprons after accumulations exceeding three inches. Snow may be removed by shovel or snow blower; salting of porches, steps, and walkways may be performed when requested by a homeowner and when the homeowner provides the salt and scoop. The City may award multiple contracts, and service demand is variable, with as many as 40 homeowners requesting service. Contractors must provide all labor, trucks, equipment, safety controls, debris removal, and required traffic and pedestrian protection. Work must generally be performed Monday through Sunday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Proposals must be submitted electronically through MITN using City-furnished forms and include the bid proposal form, conflict-of-interest disclosure, contractor references, hold-harmless and indemnity form, Iran business relationship affidavit, non-collusive affidavit, and non-discrimination affidavit. The successful contractor must provide proof of Michigan business licensure at award and maintain specified insurance, including workers’ compensation, $1 million public liability and property damage, $1 million owner’s and contractor’s protective liability and property damage, and $1 million motor vehicle liability including Michigan no-fault coverage.
