Description
Western Connecticut State University is soliciting sealed bids for the replacement of one existing boiler at the Westside Classroom Building. The work includes demolition and removal of the existing boiler and associated piping, valves, accessories, gas piping, flue exhaust, and electrical connections; installation of a new in-kind boiler; connection to existing hot-water, fuel, electrical, and building-management systems; control upgrades; pipe insulation replacement; testing, adjusting, balancing, commissioning, and related mechanical and electrical work. The second existing boiler must remain operational during the replacement work. The project is subject to Connecticut prevailing-wage requirements and state contract-compliance obligations. The state-funded portion is $350,000, with assigned spending goals of 10.45% for Small Business Enterprises, including a 3.26% Minority Business Enterprise sub-goal and a 7.19% SBE-only goal. Bidders must submit the required bid forms, qualification information, bid security, insurance evidence, prequalification documentation, compliance forms, and labor-related certifications identified in the bid submission checklist. A 10% bid bond is required with the bid; performance and labor-and-material payment bonds are required after award.
