Description
Western Suffolk BOCES seeks a qualified vendor to provide background checks and drug screening on an as-needed basis during the 2026–2027 school year. Background-check services must include Social Security trace verification; searches of felony and misdemeanor criminal records in counties where an individual has resided, including aliases and maiden names; and checks against applicable federal, New York State, sex-offender, Justice Center, Child Abuse Registry, Office of Foreign Assets Control, and Medicaid exclusion or disqualification lists. The vendor must provide actual reports documenting results and notify BOCES of criminal convictions. Drug-screening services must determine whether individuals are illegally using drugs and provide laboratory results signed and dated by a Medical Review Officer. Testing must use a SAMHSA-certified laboratory, follow applicable federal guidelines, include screening and confirmation testing, split-sample and legitimate-medical-explanation procedures, and maintain a documented chain of custody. Specimens may be urine, hair, or blood, and testing must cover the specified NIDA-5 substances. The vendor must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health, submit five similar references, identify applicable reference laboratories or subcontractors, provide required litigation information, and submit an accessibility conformance report for proposed software, hardware, or web deliverables if applicable.
