The Durham Rail Train consists of a bicycle and pedestrian trail and is approximately 1.78-miles long. DRT consists of neighborhood connections, art components, storm water treatment, road crossings, trail heads and site amenities. The trail will be a paved, multi-use, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-accessible route primarily within the former Norfolk and Southern Rail corridor. The trail will pass through the South Ellerbee Creek Stormwater project and cross West Chapel Hill Street, West Main Street, West Morgan Street, Fernway Avenue, West Corporation Street, West Trinity Avenue, Washington Street, Glendale Avenue, North Mangum Street and North Roxboro Street. The project includes a paved, multi-use, ADA-accessible bicycle and pedestrian trail with neighborhood connections, art components, stormwater treatment, road crossings, trailheads, and site amenities. Available packages include general trades; concrete; masonry; structural steel; thermal and moisture protection; doors, windows, storefronts, and related accessories; painting, drywall, framing, ceilings, countertops, millwork, cabinetry, and flooring; signage; plumbing; mechanical; electrical, communications, and security; earthwork; exterior improvements; bridge construction; traffic and trail signage; sitework; utilities; paving; roadway improvements; rail removal and salvage; and boardwalk construction. A combined earthwork package is also available. Only prequalified bidders are eligible to bid, and bids from non-prequalified bidders will be rejected as nonresponsive. Prequalification packages must be completed on the required forms and submitted according to the instructions.
