Description
The City of Durham Transportation Department is soliciting a single-prime general contractor for construction of charging infrastructure at the GoDurham Bus Operations and Maintenance Facility. The project includes installation of owner-furnished ChargePoint power blocks, dual dispensers, power modules, charger accessories, and two outdoor 4,000-amp switchboards; the City will also provide the new Duke Energy service feed and two 2,500 kVA transformers. The contractor must furnish and install underground electrical conduit using open-cut and directional-bore methods, electrical conductors, Category 6 communication cable, terminations, splice vaults, transformer pads, switchboard pads, power block and power link pads, heavy-duty safety bollards, and owner-furnished switchboards and charging equipment. The scope also includes trenching, grading, backfilling, pavement and sidewalk restoration, erosion and sediment controls, traffic control, utility coordination, equipment handling, and coordination with Duke Energy. The contractor must hold the required North Carolina general contractor license, identify plumbing, mechanical, and electrical subcontractors, provide the required bid forms and qualifications information, and comply with applicable Federal Transit Administration clauses, Buy America requirements, and construction requirements.
