Description
The City of Durham is soliciting qualifications from licensed engineering firms to provide construction engineering and inspection services, ombudsperson services, and project management for various sidewalk, curb and gutter, driveway apron, and curb ramp repair and preservation projects throughout the city. Services may include field inspection, verification of specifications and installed quantities, review of contractor reports, responding to contractor and public questions, construction-period public outreach, and project coordination. The selected consultant may also be required to prepare traffic and pedestrian control plans complying with current MUTCD standards and provide additional related services on an hourly basis. The initial contract term is one year or until funds are exhausted, with an option to renew; the attached draft contract separately states an 18-month term from the Notice to Proceed with an option to renew. Proposals must address qualifications, references and licenses, project team, methods, assumptions, insurance and bonds, conflicts of interest, and non-collusion.
