Description
The City of Durham is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide professional insurance brokerage services for its municipal risk management program. The scope includes developing underwriting information and marketing specifications; placing property, casualty, specialty, cyber, aviation, medical professional, workers’ compensation, and other coverage; reviewing policies and insurance documents; processing endorsements; managing billing and premiums; monitoring insurer performance and market conditions; supporting annual renewals; and issuing policies, binders, certificates, and other evidence of coverage. The broker will also provide loss-control inspections and recommendations, claims advocacy and coordination with third-party administrators and carriers, risk exposure and financing analysis, contract and insurance review, coverage consulting, and ongoing account service. The selected firm must be an approved broker with the City’s existing liability excess carriers, provide a qualified service team, and complete the 2027 renewal by July 1, 2027. Proposals must address the requested qualifications, experience, references, project team, methods and procedures, compensation, assumptions, insurance, conflicts of interest, and non-collusion requirements, and must include a signed cover letter and non-collusion affidavit.
