Description
The City of Piqua is soliciting bids for the manufacture, fabrication, and delivery of galvanized steel structures for the Piqua 69kV The Site Substation and Washington Road 69kV Transmission Line. The scope includes substation steel structures, grounding platforms, a static mast pole, and self-supporting steel poles identified as P-1, P-2, P-17, P-18, P-28, P-29, and P-62, along with all required connection hardware, anchor-related components, galvanizing, packaging, transportation, and delivery. Bidders must submit equipment and material data, descriptive equipment and performance information, proposed substitutions, subcontractor information, qualifications demonstrating steel-equipment fabrication experience, and the required affidavits and bid security. The engineer's estimate is $680,000.00. A bid bond or other approved bid guaranty is required at 10% of the bid when using a certified check, cashier's check, or letter of credit; a 100% bid bond is also permitted. The successful bidder must provide a 100% performance-payment bond if the required contract bond was not submitted with the bid. The specifications also require delivery scheduling, shop drawings, certified material reports, welding inspection and nondestructive testing, and hot-dip galvanizing after fabrication.
