Description
The City of Raleigh, through Raleigh Water, is soliciting unit-price bids for construction of the Rand Road-Ten-Ten Road Water Main. The work includes approximately 13,000 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe; connections to existing water mains at the Old Stage Road/Ten-Ten Road and Rand Road/Arnie Drive intersections; abandonment of approximately 450 linear feet of existing pipe at Arnie Drive; three NCDOT road crossings using jack-and-bore construction with 20-inch steel casing; and asphalt, concrete, and general site repairs. The project also includes traffic control, erosion and sediment control, tree removal, private-well inspections, utility relocations, and related testing and restoration. Addendum No. 02 revises the bidder checklist, Bid Form, unit prices, and drawings; adds rock excavation and utility/service-pole-relocation items; and includes approved NCDOT, erosion-control, and utility documents. The engineer's estimate is $10 million to $15 million. Builder's risk, installation-floater, and railroad insurance are not required. Bids must acknowledge Addendum No. 02 and include the required bid security, contractor certifications and affidavits, non-collusion affidavit, intrusion notice, evidence of authority to do business in North Carolina, and bidder's checklist.
