Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is preparing a two-phase design-build procurement for Project 636-27-101 at the Omaha VA Medical Center. The contractor will provide professional design, construction, installation, commissioning, labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to integrate two government-furnished, contractor-installed Trane 1,250-ton chillers into the facility’s central chilled-water system. The scope also includes weatherproof chiller enclosures; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, environmental, and fire-protection engineering; civil site preparation; architectural improvements; equipment and materials assessment and potential reuse; construction; commissioning; functional testing; punch-list completion; as-built documentation; and closeout. The procurement is a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside, with Phase I selection limited to no more than five firms for Phase II technical and pricing proposals. The project magnitude is estimated at $2,000,000 to $5,000,000.
