Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting an on-call contractor to provide geotechnical exploration drilling and related services through individual service requests. The scope includes soil drilling and sampling, core drilling, cone penetration testing, excavation for percolation testing, installation and destruction of boreholes and geotechnical instrumentation, sealing borings, drill logs, permits, mobilization, specialized equipment, and helicopter transport where required. The contractor must also provide traffic control for shoulder, lane, ramp, connector, and detour closures, along with drilling crews, qualified personnel, equipment, permits, and supplies. The prime contractor must hold the required California Class A license, with C-57 and C-31 licensing available through the prime or subcontractors, and must submit the bid proposal, certifications, licenses and permits, resumes for three drillers and three driller’s helpers, and other documents listed in Attachment 2. The agreement is expected to run from December 15, 2026, through December 14, 2029, subject to approval and notice to proceed.
