Description
The Town of Cary is seeking one or more consulting firms to evaluate and recommend improvements to its classification and compensation systems for approximately 1,352 full-time regular positions across 480 job classes. The work includes reviewing job classifications and Fair Labor Standards Act exemption status; analyzing salary structures, pay ranges, market competitiveness, employee pay, internal equity, and pay compression; and conducting a custom salary survey using benchmark classifications across major job families. The selected consultant must develop classification and compensation plans, revised job classifications and descriptions, career pathways, salary schedules and pay grades, employee placement recommendations, and multiple implementation options with estimated costs, timelines, financial impacts, communications, and employee-engagement strategies. Proposals are limited to 20 pages and must include a cover letter, corporate experience and references, financial information, proposed team and resumes, project approach and schedule, and cost information, including the provided cost and reference forms. The consultant must also provide one year of post-completion support at no additional cost.
