Description
The St. Joseph County Housing Consortium is accepting applications for PY 2027 HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds. Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or units of government. Priority activities include acquisition, rehabilitation, or new construction of permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless individuals; tenant-based rental assistance for special-needs populations; homebuyer assistance; acquisition, rehabilitation, or new construction of low- and moderate-income housing; and related eligible housing activities. The Consortium may also fund administration and, if funds remain, single-family home construction on vacant lots. Applicants must submit a separate proposal for each project, with no more than three applications per agency. The application requires project, organizational, budget, audit, funding, compliance, accessibility, environmental, and implementation information, along with supporting documentation such as financial statements, property ownership evidence when applicable, funding verification, organizational records, and project information. HOME funds generally require a 25% match, and projects must begin within one year and be completed within three years of contract execution, subject to the stated extension provisions. Applications must be submitted by email as attachments, with the subject line identifying the 2027 HOME program.
