Description
The Garrett County Local Management Board is offering Foundation First Grants of up to $2,000 per awardee to formal organizations and agencies serving Garrett County residents, including nonprofits, faith-based groups, local businesses, and government entities. Individual community members are not eligible for direct funding, and organizations may apply more than once if funding remains and they have fully spent prior awards and completed all reporting requirements. Grant funds may support utility bills, transportation, housing, food, grocery or gas stipends, rent assistance, and allowable goods such as food, furniture, clothing, and cell phones. Awardees may not provide cash directly to individuals; permitted payment methods include direct deposit, secure prepaid debit cards, paper checks, and secure electronic transfer platforms. Applications must describe the proposed service delivery plan, assistance type and distribution method, eligibility determination process, and per-person or household funding limits. Grantees must maintain detailed recipient and distribution records. Applications are reviewed in the order received for completeness and alignment with allowable expenses and priorities.
