Description
Contra Costa County is soliciting proposals from one or more qualified contractors to provide a complete Opening Day Collection of approximately 30,000 adult, children's, large-print, Spanish-language, and other physical books for the new Oakley Library Branch, anticipated to open in January 2028. The scope includes collection selection, electronic ordering, storage, organized delivery, status reporting, invoicing, customer support, shelf-ready cataloging, processing, barcode and property labeling, spine labeling, protective book-jacket covers, RFID tagging and programming, and handling of accompanying materials. The contractor must catalog materials according to the provided RDA, MARC21, Dewey Decimal, and Library of Congress standards; search the Contra Costa County Library catalog and OCLC for records; provide required MARC fields and library codes; and transmit completed cataloging records through the County's remote directory. Addendum No. 1 incorporates the shelf-ready processing specifications and standard cataloging requirements as Attachments C and D. The anticipated budget is approximately $600,000 over an initial two-year term with one optional one-year extension.
