Description
The City of Bangor Public Works Department is soliciting proposals from qualified engineering and architectural firms for full design services for a new approximately 5,000- to 7,000-square-foot Public Works garage. The facility will support year-round operations, vehicle storage, and light maintenance, with six drive-through vehicle bays, two specialty bays, conditioned interior space, heating and ventilation, electrical service and lighting, potable water and plumbing, floor drainage, and heavy-truck overhead doors. The scope includes conceptual design coordination; site layout, vehicle circulation, utilities, stormwater management, grading, surveying and existing-conditions documentation; permitting; a preliminary design report and cost estimate; detailed engineering drawings and specifications suitable for bidding and construction; sealed structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil plans by Maine-registered engineers; and assistance during bidding, including responses to contractor questions and participation in pre-bid meetings as requested. Proposals must include the provided Bid Form, firm qualifications and relevant experience, assigned key personnel, design approach and anticipated timeline, a fee proposal broken down by design phase, and references for at least three similar projects. Required insurance includes workers' compensation, employer's liability, automobile liability, commercial and general liability, and professional liability coverage.
