Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting sealed bids for the replacement of EPDM flat roofs on Building 57, including the western stair towers and two lower western roofs. Work includes removal and replacement of roofing membranes, insulation, cants, flashing, drip edges, gutters, drainage pitching, and related concrete deck repairs; removal of designated abandoned equipment; weather protection; crane-supported material and debris handling; and replacement of lightning-protection connections. The amended scope also requires full restoration of the penthouse balustrade system, including repointing mortar joints, repairing spalled terra cotta and brick, power washing, and applying a mineral paint coating. The contractor must coordinate work with the Contracting Officer’s Representative, protect patients and the building during demolition, and complete the project within 90 days after the Notice to Proceed. The opportunity is a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside, with an estimated construction magnitude of $100,000 to $250,000.
