Description
Montgomery County's Office of Aging Services is seeking a provider to coordinate and implement the Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight (PA MEDI) program. The contractor will provide free, unbiased, confidential, year-round counseling to Medicare beneficiaries regarding Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, Medicare Savings Programs, Extra Help, supplemental insurance, Medicare Advantage, prescription drug coverage, appeals, and long-term care insurance. The provider must conduct outreach and educational activities, provide enrollment assistance, maintain at least 10 counseling locations distributed throughout Montgomery County, and ensure that in-person assistance is available daily within the county. The required Norristown HHS office site must have at least one trained volunteer available at least one day per week for at least three hours. The contractor must provide services five days per week during normal business hours, return assistance calls within three business days, recruit and supervise volunteers, maintain required certifications and clearances, manage program records and reporting, and meet Pennsylvania Department of Aging, federal grant, and performance-measure requirements. The contract is for three years with two additional one-year renewal options, for a potential cumulative term of five years.
