Description
West Brandywine Township is soliciting bids for stabilization and reconstruction of approximately 1,600 feet of Pratts Dam Road along the West Branch of Brandywine Creek. The work includes replacing an existing retaining wall with a soldier pile retaining wall, constructing a second soldier pile retaining wall, removing portions of existing walls, installing drilled caissons, timber and precast concrete lagging, rock protection, drainage improvements, full-depth pavement, milling and overlay, guide rail, pavement markings, erosion and sediment controls, and related roadway and safety improvements. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, and materials; maintain traffic and implement a detour; coordinate utility relocations; comply with Pennsylvania prevailing-wage requirements; and meet PennDOT specifications and prequalification requirements. The project is anticipated to require 26 months after the notice to proceed. A 10% bid bond is required with the bid, while the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds and a one-year maintenance warranty.
