Description
The Greater Hartford Transit District seeks a licensed HVAC contractor to replace aging commercial HVAC equipment throughout the transportation center. The base scope includes air-handling units, return and exhaust fans, fan coil units, a makeup air unit, ductwork, piping, controls, and related accessories. Work also includes adding fan coil and destratification units, replacing mezzanine heat pumps with split systems, and replacing and modifying the building management system to integrate new and existing HVAC equipment. An alternate covers replacement of three air-cooled chillers and associated piping, supports, controls, and electrical work. The contractor must maintain building operations and occupied spaces during construction, coordinate work with the owner and tenants, and provide temporary heating or cooling as required by the plans. The scope includes testing and balancing, commissioning, a project schedule with the bid, permits, and a one-year workmanship warranty. Preventive maintenance after completion is not included. The contract is expected to be completed within 12 months after execution.
