Description
The City of Sunnyvale is soliciting a contractor to plan, prepare, and serve weekday lunches for seniors, with on-site dining and to-go pickup, at a maximum of 130 meals and minimum of 20 meals per service day. The contractor must provide nutritious menus, alternate meal selections, beverages for on-site diners, compostable to-go packaging, setup, service, cleanup, dishwashing, kitchen janitorial service, waste removal, and food-safety compliance. The contractor will use a shared commercial kitchen and must provide its own cookware, utensils, small appliances, supplies, and cleaning materials. The scope also requires at least five higher-quality special-event meals per contract year, including plated or buffet-style service, and weekly cleaning and repackaging of up to eight reusable foodware party packs per month. The initial term is one year beginning January 26, 2027, with two one-year renewal periods at the City's discretion. Compensation uses fixed rates: $5 per regular meal served above the first 20 daily meals, $12 per special-event participant except $15 for the Thanksgiving luncheon, and $100 for additional party-pack cleaning days. Proposals must include a service approach, startup and staffing plans, sample menus, facility-use and cleaning plans, experience and references, and the required cost proposal and certifications.
