Description
The Town of Chapel Hill is seeking a supplier for approximately 100 tons of Type S9.5B asphalt concrete plant mix, 2,000 tons of Type I19.0C, and 10 tons of Type B25.0C. The mixes must comply with the North Carolina Department of Transportation's 2024 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, Section 610, and have job mix formulas approved by NCDOT. If S9.5B is unavailable, the Town may purchase S9.5C at the S9.5B contract price. The Town will pick up the asphalt at the supplier's plant rather than requiring delivery to a job site, and transportation costs from the Town Operations Center to the plant will be considered in evaluating bids. Estimated quantities may increase or decrease by 25% without a unit-price change. The contract is expected to run through June 30, 2027, with a possible mutually agreed one-year extension; prices may be adjusted under the NCDOT monthly terminal F.O.B. asphalt binder price process.
