Description
The City of Austin is seeking one or more qualified veterinary contractors to provide emergency overnight services for injured and sick animals sourced from Austin Animal Services, including animals brought by Animal Protection Officers or eligible fosters within Austin and Travis County. Services must be available seven days per week from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., at a minimum capacity of 12 animals per night excluding littermates, from at least one fixed physical location within Austin or Travis County. The scope includes examination and stabilization, overnight hospitalization, euthanasia when appropriate, oral and injectable medications, subcutaneous fluids, flea management, approved diagnostic testing, treatment of infectious diseases, medical-record and invoice maintenance, and euthanasia of rabies-vector wildlife. The contractor must have at least five years of veterinary-services experience, maintain Texas veterinary licensure and good standing, provide licenses and certifications for assigned veterinarians with the proposal, and submit a fee schedule for stabilization procedures. The pricing sheet includes estimated annual quantities for examination fees, emergency services, medications, and diagnostics; quantities are not guaranteed, and the City may make a single or multiple awards by category or line item.
