Description
The City of Austin, acting through Austin Energy and Austin Water, is soliciting contractors for ongoing maintenance, diagnostic inspection, repair, overhaul, reconditioning, testing, rewinding, replacement, and upgrade of large electric motors up to and including 4,160 volts. The City may issue work for motors at power-generation, district-cooling, water-treatment, wastewater-treatment, pump-station, and related utility facilities. The scope includes on-site evaluations, written cost estimates, motor pickup and delivery, shop repairs, replacement parts and motors, testing, documentation, and final repair reports. Contractors must return motors within 14 calendar days of pickup unless otherwise agreed, provide at least a one-year repair warranty, and furnish new repair materials. The solicitation includes sample scopes covering motors from 20 HP through 4,500 HP, including rewinds, bearing and housing work, electrical and vibration testing, reconditioning, replacement motors, vibration-monitoring components, and associated equipment. The contract has an initial 12-month term with up to four additional 12-month extensions. Offerors must provide lump-sum pricing for sample work scopes, labor rates, service-call rates, equipment and material markups, and applicable catalog discounts. Proposals must address technical methodology, experience, references, personnel, project management, pricing, and required offer and certification materials.
