Description
The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center Environmental Laboratory seeks a qualified Attending Veterinarian to support its Animal Care and Use Program and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. The contractor must provide veterinary expertise for vertebrate-animal research, maintain compliance with Department of Defense requirements, the Animal Welfare Act, ACURO oversight, and AAALAC accreditation, and be licensed to practice in Mississippi. The requirement is a total small-business set-aside and will be awarded as a single purchase order to the lowest-priced technically acceptable offeror. Services include attending scheduled IACUC meetings, reviewing animal-use protocols and amendments, conducting semiannual facility inspections and program reviews, reviewing and updating standard operating procedures and the Program of Veterinary Care, providing remote veterinary consultation, supporting AAALAC and ACURO inspections, coordinating quarterly leadership meetings, and providing emergency on-site veterinary care within four hours when needed. The work will be performed at the veterinarian’s normal office location and at the ERDC Environmental Laboratory in Vicksburg, Mississippi; the contractor must be based no more than 200 miles one way from Vicksburg. The PWS states a five-year period of performance, with local travel and limited reimbursable overnight stays and travel permitted under applicable regulations.
