Description
Hays County is soliciting sealed bids for reconstruction of Old Bastrop Highway (County Road 266) between CenterPoint Road and Rattler Road. The work includes reconstructing travel lanes in both directions without a median, shoulders, turn lanes, roadway excavation and embankment, lime treatment, flexible base, geogrid reinforcement, hot-mix asphalt paving, drainage pipe and safety end treatments, driveways, fencing, mailbox assemblies, roadway signs, pavement markings, raised pavement markers, traffic handling, detours, and temporary erosion and sedimentation controls. The contractor must be prequalified by the Texas Department of Transportation, provide evidence of similar completed work and three customer references, and comply with the specified quality-control, environmental, traffic-control, insurance, licensing, and bonding requirements. The contract has an initial term of 203 working days, with no optional terms. A 5% bid bond is required, and performance and payment bonds for 100% of the contract price are required as stated in the bidding documents.
