Description
The contractor must provide all labor, tools, equipment, materials, and supervision to install and calibrate turnkey nitrogen generation and maintenance panels replacing air-compressor-based systems for dry-pipe fire suppression systems in Buildings 222, 223, 226, 244, and 248. The systems must pressurize the sprinkler piping to operating pressure within 30 minutes, maintain at least 98% nitrogen concentration in accordance with NFPA 13, and comply with NFPA 70 and applicable fire and electrical codes. The contractor is responsible for required electrical connections, integration with existing alarms for low-air notification, testing, commissioning, and up to two hours of on-site training. The scope also includes outage and impairment coordination, pneumatic leakage and system trip testing, removal and disposal of legacy equipment in Buildings 222, 223, and 226, and removal and retention coordination for equipment in Buildings 244 and 248. Installation technicians must hold active NICET Level II or higher Water-Based Systems Layout certification, and the contractor must be a factory-trained and authorized installer for the proposed nitrogen system. Required deliverables include manufacturer product data sheets, signed and stamped shop drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and as-built schematics. Performance is limited to normal duty hours, requires coordination and escorts for dormitory access, and must be completed within 45 calendar days after award.
