Description
The County seeks a contractor to collect, accept, transport, and purchase lead and brass scrap from its police firing range. The contractor must provide clean, undamaged collection barrels with lids and locking rings, pallets, and all equipment needed to load and transport the materials; pickups are to occur within 72 hours of request at mutually agreed times. The contractor is responsible for safe, lawful handling and transportation, including precautions for lead and dust, and must provide calibrated weighing, weight slips, and accounting for the recycled materials. Proposals should describe the recycling process, collection and transportation approach, facility or receiving-site location, relevant experience and references, equipment access, pricing paid to the County, related costs, and contamination procedures. The contract is for two years from ratification, with two optional one-year renewals. The County requires a Vendor Internal Sustainability Profile, veteran-owned business participation documentation, and MWDBE good-faith-effort documentation. Insurance is required before work begins, with specified liability limits and the County named as an additional insured.
