Description
The City of Pittsburgh is seeking an individual or firm to serve as a Creative Strategist for Downtown Pittsburgh. The selected contractor will support creative placemaking, urban design, cultural strategy, public art commissioning, activation of alleys, storefronts, streetscapes, and underused public spaces, stakeholder relationship-building, and community outreach and engagement. The work includes documenting and reporting on Downtown conditions, preparing creative investment and cultural strategy frameworks and plans, tracking performance measures, developing sustainability plans, and preparing reports and presentations for the Mayor's Office. Phase 1 must be completed within 45 days of the start date; Phases 2 and 3 will occur during the initial two-year contract period. The total project budget is $100,000 per year, inclusive of artist fees, travel, materials, equipment, subcontractor expenses, and community engagement and art-making costs. Proposals must address qualifications, approach, budget, representative work, references, and good-faith efforts to engage MBE, WBE, and Veteran-Owned businesses.
