Description
The City of Wichita is soliciting proposals from vendors to purchase and manage approximately 600 to 700 tons of scrap metal generated annually by various City departments, boards, and agencies. The awarded vendor must furnish approximately 15 to 17 containers at designated municipal facilities, routinely collect and replace full containers, collect oversized items placed beside containers, transport and legally process or recycle the material, and comply with applicable environmental, OSHA, DOT, licensing, and permitting requirements. The vendor must provide certified weighing, automated machine-stamped and prenumbered weight tickets, itemized monthly activity statements, and monthly revenue payments to the City based on applicable Federal Reserve metal-price indices less the vendor's proposed costs. The contract is for one year with four one-year renewal options. Proposals must address the scope and methodology, qualifications, references, pricing, required certifications and acknowledgments, S/EBE participation, sample weight tickets, proof of certified scales, applicable licenses or permits, and other mandatory documentation. The City requires commercial general liability, automobile, workers' compensation, pollution, and umbrella insurance, with specified minimum limits and the City named as an additional insured.
