Description
Greenville Utilities Commission is soliciting bids from an experienced metal recycling company to purchase and remove surplus ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals generated through daily utility operations. The scope includes providing appropriate containers, scheduled pickup of loaded containers, replacement empty containers, pickup receipts, weighing when required, recycling all collected metals, and disposal of associated waste such as fluff, wood, and plastics. Bidders must submit prices for seven estimated scrap-metal categories, including copper, insulated copper, brass, bare aluminum, triplex aluminum, underground insulated aluminum, and scrap iron and steel. Pricing is based on specified percentages of applicable American Metal Market prices. The contract is intended to run for up to five years, with prices fixed during the first year and annual extensions available for up to two additional years. Bidders must provide at least three similar-service references, a certificate of insurance, required licenses, certified scales, and the completed proposal and exception/variation forms. No bid deposit or performance bond is required.
