Description
The City of Muscatine is seeking contractors for snow removal and/or snow hauling from designated streets in the downtown Central Business District and various city-owned parking lots. Snow must be hauled to the Muscatine City Compost Site at 1000 S. Houser Street. Work may occur on regular workdays, weekends, and holidays, generally between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., with storm events triggering work and shifts potentially lasting 12 to 18 hours. Bidders may provide hourly pricing for snow hauling-only and snow removal-and-hauling services using specified equipment, including tandem dump trucks, semitrailers with side-dump trailers, endloaders with snow pushers or buckets, a mini excavator with sidewalk scraper, and pickups with plows. The contract remains in effect through May 1, 2027. Contractors must own and directly control the proposed equipment, provide vehicle insurance proof with the bid, and submit a $5,000 bid bond.
