Description
Polk County is soliciting bids for the Little Fourmile Creek Stream Restoration project from Little Fourmile Creek Drive to the Iowa Interstate Railroad. The work includes stabilization and restoration of approximately 4,350 linear feet of stream, including mobilization, clearing and grubbing, survey and staking, water handling, stormwater pollution prevention plan development and management, stream debris removal, temporary crossings, traffic control, excavation, disposal of excess material, bank shaping, floodplain benching, channel reconnection, side-channel protection, rock riffles, bendway weirs, toe rock, Class E rock riprap, geotextile fabric, erosion-control products, and hydraulic seeding with turf, riparian, mesic prairie, and temporary seed mixes. The project also includes protection and restoration of affected access routes, cart paths, utilities, wetlands, sensitive areas, and golf-course features. The engineer's estimate is $2,011,001. Bidders must submit a completed Bid Form and Signature Page, Bidder's Resident Status Form, and bid security equal to 5% of the total bid. A performance bond, payment bond, and maintenance bond are required upon award; the performance and payment bonds are 100% of the contract amount, and the maintenance bond covers two years after project acceptance. Contractors must provide the specified insurance coverage, obtain the required NPDES permit after award and before notice to proceed, and comply with the project plans, Iowa Department of Transportation standards, SUDAS standards, and applicable permit requirements.
